If you allow it, this meditation can take you deep. It’s called Meditation on the Self—a practice that helps you relate to your mind in a whole new way. The mind was given to us as a tool for self-expansion. But most of the time, we let it run the show. Old habits take over. We get swept into streams of thinking that go nowhere.
But the true purpose of the mind isn’t to control us—it’s for us to learn how to master it, and in turn, master the body. That’s where this meditation comes in. It includes exercises that help settle the mind naturally, without chasing or controlling thoughts. That’s one of the powerful things about Kundalini Yoga—it doesn’t rely on endless inner dialogue. The practice itself shifts your state. This kriya guides your mind into stillness, without force. It’s said that doing this meditation can save years of sitting in stillness trying to reach that same clarity. We all have a finite body, but the mind is the bridge to our infinite Being.
In this kriya, we raise the Kundalini energy to calm and clear the mind, and we turn the mind inward to observe itself. You become the witness. The self-aware guide. The practice teaches you to use the mind rather than be ruled by it. In addition to being a powerful meditative tool, this kriya also supports digestion and overall vitality. Some of the movements and breath patterns might feel new, so I’ll walk you through them first.
